Outdoor Receptions at Home

Hosting a bar or bat mitzvah at your home has a long list of strategic advantages over a venue. For beginners, you can take your time with setup and breakdown. You won’t feel the rush that a venue often adds as they try to flip a room for another event. Next, you can have your party as long or short as you want. Or, you may choose to have a kids party first followed by an adults party later in the same night. At home, especially outdoors or under a tent, you can feel comfortable knowing the environment is yours and has not been heavily trafficked by strangers. You can also enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere at a house that’s often not capable to find at a venue. Hiring a planner is usually suggested to help manage all of the services that are needed when planning a party at a house.

Outdoor Receptions at a Venue

Using a venue provides some great advantages. For starters, they are setup to hold events. Meaning, they have all the necessary elements on site including tables, chairs, parking, restrooms, catering, etc. These elements are tedious when planning a party at your home. Venue’s also are responsible for the setup and clean up. You can arrive ready to celebrate. Enjoy your time with your guests. Then leave. Simple. Most venues now have COVID restrictions (which seem to change regularly). We suggest you inquire about all of the logistics and get answers in writing when possible. Think out of the box when seeking the right venue. Make sure they are comfortable with bar/bat mitzvahs, have a solid reputation and include all the provisions for what you need to hold a successful celebration for your family and friends. These venues include traditional banquet halls and country clubs, but may also include night clubs, beach clubs, parks and more!
